Dunkin Donuts vs. Starbucks coffee
7:22 PM
Okay, so there have been much debate about which coffee is better, Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks. Here is my opinion. In all honesty, I was never really a coffee drinker. I mean, I didn't drink my first cup of coffee until I was-- 18 years old. My mom told me that it would keep me from getting taller, I'm now 24 years old, and I'm 5'2"-- thanks mom. Oh, and here's the kicker to her little theory-- my cousin (who's my age) was also told by her mom about the whole "coffee keeping you from getting taller thing"-- didn't drink coffee growing up either, she's 5'1". Our little sisters? they started drinking coffee young, yeah, my sister's a few inches than me (she's 18) and my younger cousin? she's 5'6". What the hell.
Anyway, I digressed. The thing is, I only drink coffee to wake up in the morning during days I have work, and that's it. But I enjoy it. I can't just drink any cup of coffee. I don't mean that in a snobbish way, I just mean, I'm pretty particular about the taste of the foods I eat, and drinks I drink. Don't get me wrong, I love trying new foods, I've eaten foods some find weird or disgusting (crickets, mealworms, snails, frogs, chicken feet, chicken intestine, pork stomach-- to name a few)-- but when it comes to things I eat on a regular basis, I can get pretty picky. So, back to coffee, regarding this whole debate about which coffee is better, I say, to each his own! I happen to like my coffee strong, and I like being able to put the exact amount of sweetness and creaminess that I want. I can honestly say that there were only probably 5 times that Dunkin Donuts got my coffee right. Sorry, it's true. I like that I can go to ANY Starbucks and my drink will taste the same. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about Dunkin Donuts. I can go to three different Dunkin Donuts-- order a regular cup of coffee, and get one that's too bland, one that's too sweet, and one that's too creamy.
Bottomline, I'm not one of those people that go to Starbucks to be seen, to look mod and cool, to use the wifi, to sit and sip all day while reading a book I just bought. I don't go to Starbucks because of anything else other than-- I love their coffee.
